The exhibition Here and Now presents the artist’s creative trajectory spanning a decade, from 2016 to 2026.

From early observations of still life and the self, to the repeated appropriation and contemporary reinterpretation of Macao's historical images in recent years, and further to the introspection on the trajectory of life in the Sheng Xi (Life Breath) and Tong Xi (Shared Breath) series—the shifting of perspective is the trace of time upon the creator.

In the collision between the classical and the contemporary, which memories have been overlooked?

Between withering and growth, is “xi” (breath) an ending, or another form of continuation?

What is lost is lost.

Here, now, before everything fades away.

Artist Biography

Liang Yurong graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, later obtained a master’s degree from Macau University of Science and Technology, and is currently pursuing a doctoral program at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Having devoted years to the field of oil painting creation, his works have always centered on "time" and "memory"; supported by interdisciplinary theoretical research, he has gradually developed a viewing perspective with personal characteristics and a unique artistic expression style making his creations not only rooted in the essence of oil painting, but also rich in ideological depth.
