Guan Xin Ming- By Hanshan Deching
Hanshan Deching, renowned as one of the four Buddhist masters in the late Ming dynasty, gave equal weight to Buddhist doctrines and meditation. The eminent monk focused on the Huayen school of dogmas and the meditation practice leading to true enlightenment. The gatha Guan Xin Ming from him, its content being doctrinal essentials for meditation practice, addresses the involvement of body and mind in the practice and the critical importance of understanding the role of mind (the heart).
Doppelganger-Mirror Image-1
Doppelganger There are no exact copies in this world, no perfect clones. Even industrially mass-produced items are just copies which tend to be very close to the original. After all, any two copies are just independent individuals that are extremely similar, never identical. Regarding the topic of copying, I thought deeply about the relationship between the "first body" and the "second body" (its Doppelganger), and explored the spiritual and creative possibilities of copying through creation.
Separation
There are wildlands on one side and paved roads on the other. We have built a wall separating them. The work indicates a relationship, a conflict between cities and the wild. When the cities are occupying the land of the wild, the wild is snatching back what once belonged to it, giving us a painful reminder of the necessity to coexist peacefully with nature in the same place.
Little Hand Holding Big Hand
Rural life is simple and rustic, with bricks and tiles in shades, mud on the body by every step and jump. This creation is about childhood memories, when the little one’s hand is holding by his grandmother, walking to the bright side under the sky.
Promise Paradise 2.0
The seemingly irrelevant people, things, and matters are put together. This looks absurd and surreal, but this is the reality, isn’t it?
